The Sunrise Cafe in Pleasant Hill

The food was hot and very fresh. The atmosphere is very relaxing. And the service is first rate. I wish I lived closer, this would be a go to everyday place.

Great food just passing through they are doing a great job with covid rules.

Great selection of meals, unbeatable food! Except for the pancakes, which is the reason for only the 4 star. They must have 2 different cooks, depending on the day, the pancakes are either light delightful and tasty. Or tough as leather, since when do you NEED a steak knife to cut your pancakes? And I noticed I am not the only one commenting about this issue in the reviews.

Very nice breakfast, a little bit of a wait (which was OK), but the waitress was pretty grumpy.

For as busy as the place was i got my food pretty quick. This is a nice small independent Resturant. May not be up scale but way worth the visit.

Great food, good prices but could be cleaner.

Very disappointed experience - food was just ok - waitress was not! Soup with a full lunch came with the burger not before - as a result, burger was cold before eating it, cold, untoasted bun and all. Decaf coffee was end of pot - poured so quickly she missed and put a lot on the table. no additional napkins offered. Asked for a second cup - she hadn't made it! Did not feel like a "valued customer" - won't be back.

We go here almost every time we go out to breakfast. We even made the drive when we lived out in Veneta. Delicious comfort food for a great price.

Friendly service and a wide variety of breakfast items on the menu. We stop in here whenever we're in the area. We've tried just about everything on the breakfast menu and haven't ever been disappointed. I like the haystack with perfectly crispy hash browns.Basic diner atmosphere. If I were to make suggestions, I would recommend that they upgrade the bathroom. It's a little sketchy.

I have been going to Sunrise Cafe for going on twenty-five years now. Through all the changes and there's been a lot, it's still always feels the same. Great food great coffee and I staff that will warm your heart.It's little cramped but that's just how all the locals like it it's a tight-knit community and if you don't know what that means just come in the sunrise on a Sunday morning after church. And when you're there order the haystack with at least two eggs and a big glass of milk. You will thank me. You are welcome.

Good old fashioned place with good old-fashioned food!

Loaded hashbrowns were fantastic and the wife really enjoyed her breakfast of French toast, sausage and egg.

We both had the special of the day ❤️ meat scramble: German sausage, sausage,ham, bacon and cheese with home fries or hash browns, toast or biscuit. The scramble was excellent and our service was just as good. We will probably go back to get another breakfast in the near future.

Sunrise Cafe is known by locals as the greatest hippie restaurant breakfast place in town. And it definitely earns that deserved reputation. I eat at sunrise often and every single time I've been pleased even if I ordered something that I really didn't know what it was. They have a very eclectic menu I will cover any one's taste. They even have gluten free items. The biggest challenge was sunrise is finding a place to park and don't fall into the temptation of parking in the train station next door or you can get a very expensive ticket

This is one of my favorite places for breakfast. Great food! Great service! Great pricing & menu options! My favorite go to meal is the "chicken fried chicken breast". It's amazing!

Great food at a surprisingly cheaper prices then what you might expect for such quality. Only downside was the pancakes a bit more chewy and tough to cut than to my likeing. Excellent hours for early birds.

This has been one of my favorite breakfast spots for the last two years but part of the reason was the previous wait staff. Current waitresses are kind, but a bit bullish. The food is still great but the genuine warmth of the experience has diminished and I will probably not be going back much.

Went to sunrise cafe for breakfast and got a tiny bit of food for being an ex employee, one tiny portion because they want to be petty. Spent 20$ plus tip :)

The way breakfast should be!!! Never had any issues with anything. Service, timeliness of being seated/served, quality of food.....top notch!!

The service is good, the food is fresh and tasty, and the place is packed. Prices are reasonable. I've never had a bad experience with the quality of the food in this hidden gem... Just around the corner at The Hilltop you'll find overinflated prices and downright bad food and service if you prefer atmosphere over quality...
